A WHOPPING HALF INCH

Yeah, that's about all the snow we've had so far. We are totally envious of all you with MORE than that. We are sick of hearing about everyone elses snow. If you have it...please don't mention it to us.

Sugar...da da da da da da

aha Honey Honey..da da da da da da
You were my CANDY GIRL...

YES, we made MORE because the first batch got mostly eaten before I had a chance to make up gift platters of goodies for friends and neighbors! This time it was a MOM project and I glazed some of them (yellow glaze for the stars, green for the trees, brown for the reindeer) and THEN frosted with icing on top of that. It worked out wonderfully and I think the results were good. Altogether I made Peanut Butter & Chocolate bars, two kinds of Fudge (with and without walnuts), Maple walnut fudge, the sugar cookies, Big THUMBPRINT COOKIES with kisses in the top (my fave), and...I think that's all. I am SO done with baking and done with sugar! I am on a no sugar and no bad fats diet again. I'm going to eat super healthy again for a while (hopefully forever, but I'm being realistic...there will be occasions!). I'm already feeling healthier. Anyhow, we made up lovely platters for both of our elderly neighbors on either side of us, one for Mark's workmate, Pete, one for my friend Michelle's family, our friends Nancy and Tommy, and I have a few more to deliver (granner, aunt adele). Mark and the kids delivered to the neighbors and I guess they were delighted. But then again, who wouldn't be delighted with such cute kids coming to their door??? Enough foody talk...on to more posts.

by the way...
a GREAT BIG HELLO to those who I KNOW are reading this:
My Grandma Maxine, Elizabeth (Mark's Mom), Grandpa Dave (Mark's Dad in the Czech Rep.), My Mommy (she loves it when I call her that!), and Everyone else who happens to be reading...THANKS for stopping in!!!

Liberty & Avi

Irresistible CUTENESS!

Oh...so for those who don't know I'll throw in tid bits of updates here and there...so it's going to be like a puzzle (only sometimes totally out of order and definitely missing some pieces...but you'll get an idea of the big picture).

We are all recovering from being sick. Another almost 3 weeks of illness in the Borgeson house. This makes for being sick SIX, count them, S-I-X, of the last 12 weeks!!! I know, it seems too ridiculous to be true, but alas, it IS! This time it was another coughing cold and Avi ended up the sickest this time. I did take them all in to see our doc, Ginger, who gave Avi antibiotics eventually when the homeopathic stuff just wasn't doing it for her. Then just when we were starting to feel human again I took the kids out to the Children's Museum here and met my friend Michelle and her son Erek. We had a BLAST and it was so good to talk to another human ADULT (besides my husband, mind you). Anyhow, I was feeling so good about this and everyone seemed well but that evening Az had a throwing up episode...in our bedroom, down the hall into the bathroom, out into the computer room; well, you get the idea. I was SURE we were now being invaded by the stomach bug BUT, turns out it was just a fluke. A random throwing up episode. THANK GOD! I had run out to get Gatorade and 7 UP. The kids are enjoying something other than water but really don't NEED to have their electrolytes replenished, thankfully. Anyhow, there is our little saga of yesterday and the last few weeks.

GingerBread Man

Azriel was really into this whole GingerBread House process. It was quite a serious ordeal...and lots of fun too. By the way...there's one picture of Az sitting on the table a few down from here where he sure does look gangly, huh?! All legs and arms! My cute kids.

Decorating the GingerBread House

They had big fun and Avi kept on stealing bits of candy. ha ha. It's usually Az who does the candy snatching but he's got too refined a taste when it comes to sweets to eat gumdrops and whatever else junk candy was in the kit. He's a chocolate boy. Avi isn't really a candy kid at all so she doesn't know what's best! :-)

Not dressed yet...

Except for our magnificent MORAVIAN STAR!!! Isn't it lovely? We bought it last year for our 10 foot tree in the house with the vaulted ceilings. Everything else (topper-wise) seemed too understated...this star balanced out everything PERFECTLY and even works wonders on a shorter tree. This tree was a 9 footer when we bought her and we trimmed her down to fit.

The finished product

I suppose I could make the posts go in order if I start backwards but that just takes too much effort on my part and being as late as it is we're lucky I'm able to post anything at all. Ha ha! ENJOY!

Cheerios

Here's the other two just in case you think I forgot about them. They didn't do any coloring but Liberty sure is getting good at feeding herself Cheerios! Whenever Liberty is eating you can be sure that Condi is just hanging out waiting for something to fall from the sky...
