The title of this family blog is derived from the meanings of our children's names. Azriel means GOD Is My STRENGTH, Avigail means Bringer of JOY, and Liberty means FREEDOM!...Then there's Esther, our youngest! This is a chronicle of our home life, our adventures, and our milestones.

So I went and opened my big mouth...
Will I EVER learn? Of what do I speak? I happened to mention that I was amazed that I had managed to post daily since I began this blog. CURSES! Whenever I make a statement like that it is sure to immediately work against me. If I say, "Wow, we've been well for a long time." we'll end up with colds the next day. If I say, "Boy, the baby sure has a good sleep pattern." She'll stay awake all day long and have a restless night! Mark would laugh at this because it ALWAYS happens. I don't know why I don't learn from this. It TRULY never fails (except for when I make a statement like I just made)!!! I am not at all the superstitious type but this is ridiculous!
Anyhow, I am back. I will make no promises and I will try not to toot my own horn when I have a good posting streak from now on.
We had a nice weekend. The weather was only in the 90's so we were able to get out and have some fun. We went to the Howard Amon park two nights in a row; Friday and Saturday! Friday the kids just played and played on the equipment and then Saturday they played the whole time in the wading pool. That was fun because it wasn't crowded. The park is really nice in the evening since there are not nearly as many people/kids there as during the day. While they all played I walked around with the baby. Lets see...on Saturday Mark, Az, & Avi also went out in the canoe for a 30 minute paddle around Bateman Island. The kids brought back some lovely cattails and had big fun.
On Sunday Mark's Mom came for a visit. She always brings lots of fun projects and books for the kids. They really look forward to her coming. She stays in a hotel so everyone gets to enjoy a swim. Liberty & I just watched & took photos from the sideline. The kids had a blast. I can't believe how brave they are in the water! They'll be swimming without flotation aids in just a few more visits to the pool I think. Anyhow Grandma "E", as the kids call her, left Mon. after lunch.
Now, speaking of Monday, we'll revisit the sickness post since Avi was running a fever all Sun. night & Monday. She crawled into bed with us Sun. night and was so hot...even her feet were burning up. Anyhow she was feeling very sick & feverish all Monday but the fever is gone today so I won't need to call Dr. Frazer after all. We still have the lingering cold symptoms but are on the mend I believe.
I need to sign off for now. Time to get the baby to sleep & CLEAN THIS HOUSE!!! iF YOU NOTICE ANY ERRORS IT WAS most likely DUE TO ONE HANDED TYPING. Hopefully not a feeble mind. It's difficult to do this w/baby in hand. More later... Oh I'm adding some pics via Picasa. We'll see how that works out.

Sick Night. Busy Morning.
Well, the kids were coughing all night long. It was like a coughing symphony. During the times I was in there laying down with one one or the other of them the coughing went back and forth across the room in a kind of rhythm, as if they were playing off of each other's coughing. It was very sad and their sleep was, obviously, not very good. Neither was ours. Avi had the worst of it and I had Mark run to Rite Aid sometime after midnight. Now normally this would not have been a big deal but we had stayed up late and had to get up early. He went and got the Robitussin and I'm not sure if he ever really woke up on his journey to and from the store! Ha ha. Anyhow, it did help Avi finally get some needed rest without the coughing. It's weird, they seem to do OK during the day and are sick mostly at night. Now, Avi has had coughing since a month before the baby was born and there have been two coughing type colds during that time. I was thinking though that the kids must have some sort of allergy...maybe seasonal...maybe dust? I will have to get them in to see Ginger, aka Dr. Frazer, our wonderful ND and midwife!
Anyhow, following our exciting and sleepless night we had to get up early. I needed to have a shower before Mark left for work today so I could get ready for my friend to bring her little boy over for me to watch this AM. She had a job interview and her husband had been called away for duty for the Natl. Guard. Since they are new in town she didn't really have anyone else to turn to and I was glad to help out , considering the circumstances.
Right now the baby is sleeping, the children are playing in the living room, the dog is outside and I am, well, it's quite obvious where I am! I should have some photos to add later today or maybe tomorrow. It will depend on how the day goes. I NEED to get to Costco this week and Mark and Az have got to get their hair cut. I guess we'll do hair tonight and Costco tomorrow. I will post the new do's after they get done.
More later!
OH...and I was just being amazed that I've managed to post here daily since I began.

Privacy?
I attempted to make this a private blog for invitees only and only TWO of the people I invited signed up...this is out of like 30 or so folks. I had a couple of emails regarding problems viewing the blog so I just decided, FOR NOW, to make it public again. I have to rethink the whole privacy issue. Please feel free to comment as you read so that I know you've been here. I'd love to know who's actually viewing my efforts. It will encourage me to be diligent to update this regularly. Also, you can subscribe to the blog. There is a link at the bottom of it for subscribing. As a subscriber you will recieve an email anytime I update the blog. That way you only have to check back when there is something new posted.
Today is Pay Day. I have to figure out our finances for this period. We're doing the Dave Ramsey program and I am LOVING it. Here's a link to his site:
http://www.daveramsey.com/
I'm still trying to grasp the whole concept and it's getting easier each pay period as I put into practice what I am learning. Switching to CASH for things like groceries is a whole new world to me and is VERY helpful for spending wisely.
Did you check out the Web link on my side bar to my sis and her boyfriend's web site? They have some cool T's and bags for sale.
OK...baby is still asleep and the kids are occupied at present. My checkbook is balanced so now I should get OFF the computer and get my budget done for the next two weeks.
MORE LATER. Blessings to you...whoever you are.

First Photo Offerings and a Link to more!
These are all pictures I took today, July 17, 2007. Here is a link to my photobucket JULY album that I just started today as well. http://s85.photobucket.com/albums/k59/kdborgeson/July%202007/
If you have problems with the link just contact me and I will try and fix it.
We're just hanging out at home again today. My goal is to mow the front and back yards. I will have to wait until Liberty is done napping then I'll wear her in the front pack to mow and see how that will work out. I mowed plenty when she was in utero so maybe she'll find it a familiar thing and enjoy it?! I'd also like to get out to a park as well so the kids can run around. They still need to get that activity in even though they aren't feeling well. At least no one has a fever today. They just have the cough, or as Mark calls it, the "hack-n-wheeze". Speaking of Mark, he will be working late again so it's going to be a long day but we sure do appreciate the overtime. That's all for now folks. Have a great day!
This is little Liberty. She's wearing some patriotic garb but is all teary eyed at the state of things in our country.
Ha ha.
Az and Avi are moving in a little TOO close for her comfort!
All THREE of my little ones together on the couch.
This is how Liberty sleeps during the day. She likes to have her face totally covered and to be swinging in the swing.
Last but not least, the fort, or rather boat, that the kids built in the living room this morning. We seem to have some sort of new fort each day in the living room. This usually consists of gathering every toy they have and hiding it in their fort. It's always too much for them to clean up later but never too much to make the mess in the first place. It gets frustrating as a mother but the clean up does happen eventually often accompanied by much whining. Now, if I could just learn how to train them to just joyfully pick up I'd feel like a successful parent. Whining makes me feel like I've failed. I'll be working on this one until I get it right or they move out of the house!

SICKO...
Or rather, SICKOS.
No...nothing at all to do with Michael Moore (YUCK!).
This morning Azriel came into my bed saying he was hot and didn't feel well. Sure enough, he had a fever and a cough. Another COLD??? We JUST all got over our colds with Mark being the last to have it and now a new round!!! Oh my gosh. Avigail is sick too and so is Liberty. I was up with her at 4 AM in the bathroom with all the hot water running to steam out her sinuses. She just couldn't really sleep for lack of breathing through her nose. It gets her really worked up when her little nose doesn't work. She's only 10.5 weeks old and is already getting her SECOND cold! And here we've had days and weeks hovering around 100 degrees outside. It seems that when it's hot out you shouldn't be getting colds, but apparently that's NOT the case. Fortunately I am feeling well enough to deal with three children who are under the weather.
Azriel is resting on the couch watching a show we picked up from the library called VOLTRON...it's some sort of older animated series which he has been enjoying on occasion. I guess it will be a day inside for us. I was hoping with the temperatures being in the 90's this week that we'd get out to the parks again. It has been TOO HOT to be out these last couple of weeks. We did go to the library last evening though. We got a whole new supply of books and shows for the week and the kids played in the water spray park for a long time. We came home and had Mediterranean Chicken cooked on the grill. Later in the week I'll write about my new feezer meals that I've been doing. It's WONDERFUL and saves so much time and frustration in each day. They are not pre-cooked freezer meals but rather all FRESH ingredients that are frozen and then taken out to thaw and cook each day. I'm loving it!
Baby needs me now so I'll end here for this post. More later!
